For the new millenium, Renault are introducing a new formula to Europe, Formula Renault 2000. With all the cars built to the same design and fitted with sealed engines, the equipment will be as equal as possible.

Testing will be strictly limited and tyre supply tightly controlled to limit the benefits of big budget teams. All the engines will be supplied and maintained by Renault and running time will be carefully monitored to prevent illegal testing.

As well as the national series in the UK, France and Germany, there will be a Euroseries with one round in the UK at Donington Park which UK teams will be encouraged to enter.

30 cars have been allocated to the UK series and all have been sold - there is even a waiting list should anyone drop out! Tatuus are well advanced on producing the cars with the first machine running at Estoril last month in the hands of McLaren test driver Darren Turner. We expect delivery of our car in late January.

As the main supporting single seater series for the British Touring Car Championship, this will be one of the best supported championship in 2000.
