A graduate of Kingston University, Stuart Wood is 26 years old and works as an instructor at the Everyman Motor Racing School, Mallory Park.

With six years of successful Karting experience, Stuart commenced his single seater car racing career in Autumn 1993. He achieved third place in the first round of the 1993 Formula First Winter Series at Brands Hatch - his first car race. He went on to take two second places, two fastest laps and one pole position in the five race series and ended the series in fifth place.

During his first full season in 1994, Stuart achieved considerable success in the BRSCC Formula First National Championship. This was highlighted by his nomination for the prestigious McLaren Autosport BRSCC Young Driver of the Year Award.

He achieved four wins, six second places and one third place in the closely fought sixteen race championship. In addition he took five fastest laps, four pole positions and set one lap record. He led the championship for some time until a heavy impact at Oulton Park cost valuable points and he finished the year a very close second.

Throughout 1995 and 1996, Stuart concentrated on his studies at Kingston, returning to single seaters once more in 1997 to contest the BARC Formula Renault Championship. Using an ex-Manor Motorsport Van Diemen RF96 and Scholar engine, Stuart finished fourth in the series with a best placing of second at Snetterton and fastest laps at Snetterton and Croft.


As well as being featured as "One to Watch" by Autosport magazine, Stuart has always attracted close press coverage:-
