During the lunch break, rain started to fall and this became progressively heavier through the afternoon - until just before we headed for the collecting area! A delay while Lodge Corner was cleared of debris meant many thought about slicks but with much standing water on the circuit, everyone elected to start on wets.
Syuart made a great start this time - too good it appeared because he suffered a 10 second penalty for a jumped start. At the first corner he went for the inside but Anthony closed the door and both spun through 360 degrees, rejoining with little loss of position! Meanwhile, Micheal Nippers took full advantage of the chaos, pulling ahead of Anthony with Stuart recovering to third by lap 3 and closing in rapidly, setting fastest lap in the process. By lap 7, Stuart was on Anthony's tail going through Clay Hill when Anthony clipped the kerb and Stuart had to back off to avoid him, lossing the back end over the wet kerbs and disappearing backwards into the tyres.
Anthony recovered but Nick passed him for second, holding on to the flag but it was Michael Nippers who took the win after a fine drive.
Next race is at Castle Combe on July 5th - See you there.
