Once qualifying was over, the track dried rapidly and slicks were the order of the day as the grid formed up. Stuart made a great start and was up to fourth by the end of lap one and challenging Elliot Lewis for third. Elliot had other ideas, trying twice to push Stuart into the tyres at Devil's Elbow, allowing Nick Dudfield past both before Stuart found a way past on 6.
However, as Stuart turned in to Gerrards on lap 7, Elliot forgot to brake and put his front wing end plate through Stuart's right rear tyre, the immediate deflation putting Stuart out on the spot.
Meanwhile, Anthony Dunn and Michael Nippers were fighting for the lead until Anthony pushed Michael off and spun himself, allowing a somewhat bemused Nick Dudfield into the lead. The red flag came out on lap 10, unfortunately a lap too late for Michael who was deemed not to have finished while Dunn and Lewis survived to finish second and third.
The win puts Nick into an unassailable lead in the championship while Anthony is also secure in second and Stuart third.
Next (and final) race is at Oulton Park on September 13.
