Race Day dawned foggy and racing didnt start until 11.00. With 14 races to fit in (we were race 12) the BARC decided to shorten all the races to 4 or 5 laps which meant this was going to be a sprint. No questions of tyre choice this time - everyone went to the grid on wets for a 5 lap race.
Stuart made a reasonable start but not as good as the two guys behind who seemed to be on a dry patch when everyone else was on a wet part of the track. Matt Bettley had an awful start, dropping to eight by the Craners and allowing Charles and Peter to disappear into the distance with the championship! Stuart gained a place around Redgate and pulled away around the Craner curves and down to Old Hall Hairpin with Matt following. Then, in an absurdly late attempt to pass, Matt ran into Stuart's back wheel, sending both into a spin. Stuart regained the circuit and pulled back to fourth place but Matt could only manage 13th place (6th in class) and that left him equal on points with Peter.
On the basis of most wins, Peter took the championship with Matt second, Charles third and Stuart fourth.
