For Stuart, this was a very short race! Joe Chedid moved across to take the line down Graham Hill, forcing Stuart onto the grass and straight into the tyre barrier at around 100mph. Red flags and a 20 minute delay while the car was extracted but Stuart walked away from the battered Van Diemen with light bruisng only.
After the restart it proved to be a cracking race with Matt Bettley, Peter Clarke and Nick Dudfield fighting for the lead. A small error by Bettley allowed Dudfield past into a lead he never lost - but it was close at every corner!
A last gasp passing manouvre by Charles Hall cost him exclusion, effectively ending his championship hopes.
In the 1700 class, Joe went on to finish 3rd in class behind Robert Todd and Stephen Tompkins with championship leader Matt Baldacci managing only sixth.
Next race is at Donington Park on the 2nd of November - see you there (we hope)!
